Launched on the occasion of CNA annual Open Session and the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the association, the Calypso Awards ceremony took place on the 20th of November.
With the intent to reward the actors of the market who contributed to the promotion and development of Calypso, the new “Calypso Awards” were created.
The prizes were awarded for two categories: the category of Best Customer Value and the category of Best Innovation. The winner of the category Best Customer Value was Rigaskarte’s CityGuideCard. The winner of the category Best Innovation was Morpho with its project Fastzone.
RigasKarte was created to supply and operate a contactless smart-card solution for ticketing for Riga public transport. Rigaskarte supports a tourist privilege card. Besides granting free rides in public transport it saves holders, time and money, by giving access to many tourist services including excursions, museums, hotel services, cafés and restaurants, car rental, shopping, entertainment centers etc..
The other nominees in that category were:
logoTSP with its NFC integrated national ticket which includes three major transport companies: ANM Naples, TPER Bologna START Romagna together with Telecom Italia.

5T with its BIP project that is an innovative integrated ticketing system for public transport for other transport systems like car and bike sharing and that can be integrated with cultural services.
MorphoFastZone is a Calypso product that offers the highest securityfeatures: PKI and Biometry. PKI allows end-users to connect safely to internet websites or to sign digital documents. Biometry allows users to use their fingerprint instead of another PIN code for authentication featuring also new services embedded on a transport card.
The other nominees in that category were:
Watchdata with its project SIMpass-SC for Calypso that unlike other NFC SIM-centric solutions, which are dependent on handsets' NFC capabilities, offers full compatibility with around 90% of handsets on the market just by using the SIMpass-SC as the SIM on existing mobiles;
PosteMobilePoste Mobile with its Android Calypso Reader which is a project using for the first time a smart-phone Android application that allows to read and validate Calypso tickets.
CNA was very happy to see such a wide participation to the Awards and thanks all participants for their work and dedication.
