Pupil’s e-card

Introduction of pupil’s e-card.
In 2013 Riga started the introduction of the pupil’s e-cards, which combine the functions of both the pupil’s certificate and the e-ticket for transportation.

Passengers appreciate the advantages of e-ticket.
Five years after the introduction of the electronic payments system in Riga public transport, a very large majority of passengers believe that e-tickets are modern, convenient and easy-to-use.

Payment for trips in trains

Starting from 01.10.2013 – trains have been included into the transportation system as additional operator.

E-talons = pupils card

Since 2012 e-talons also serves as pupil’s ID, school entrance card, and meals payment card.
It is branded as "Skolena e karte" in Riga.

E-talons = City Guide card

CityGuideCARD in cooperation with Rigas Karte has created the tourist's privileges card for discount in many participating shops and venues, while being a fully fledged e-talons for public transportation in Riga.

Based on excellent results achieved in Riga, we plan to develop our ticketing solution to more cities and intercity transportation in Latvia.

E-ticket system

The electronic ticketing system in Riga city has been successfully working since March 1, 2009.

No need to carry heavy Euro coins for your daily purchases, and no need to enter any PIN code like for bankcards, simply use E-talons to pay ! It's the quickest, yet safe, means to pay for small amounts.

Yes, it's cashless and your money is protected.
If you lose your card or if it is stolen, you will get your cash back. (*)

Currently E-wallet can be used to pay for street parking in Riga. It is planned that E-talons e-wallet will be accepted for small purchases in specially designated selling points or educational and medical centers.

Bring your E-talons to a Ticket Vending Machine or to any Rigas Satiksme Client Center and you will be able to load any amount of money you want into your E-talons (whether personalized or anonymous), up to 100 Euros maximum.

Should you want your E-money back in cash, you will get it at any Rigas Satiksme Client Center. (**)

In February 2013 Rigas Karte became an Electronic Money Institution authorized by the Financial and Capital Market Commission of Latvia (FKTK).

(*) personalized e-talons cards only with proof of identity and after a 5 working days delay needed to inquire e-wallet payments reports.
